Chris is a Sociologist of Work and Organisations based at the Department of Sociology, Lund University, and an Associate Fellow at the Institute for Employment Research. From 2015-2018, he coordinated the Horizon 2020 project QuInnE – Quality of Jobs and Innovation Generated Employment Outcomes. He is also a Board member of the European Sociological Association’s Research Network 2 on the Sociology of the Arts. From 2002-2012, he was Associate Professor of Organisational Sociological Analysis at the Copenhagen Business School where his research focused on gender and organisation in the IT sector; cultural policy; and creativity, innovation, and the cultural economy. He has conducted extensive research and published widely on film production and has done consultancy work in Sweden and Norway on socio-economic infrastructure development to foster regional film industries. He has edited Careers in Creative Industries (Routledge, 2012), and he is currently editing The Oxford Handbook of Job Quality (OUP, 2019).
